Chiropractic Education

Dr. Swaim attended Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California because they have a reputation for producing excellent doctors. He wanted to be a part of an institution that cared deeply about chiropractic principles. Life West is that! Dr. Swaim obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic in 2001 and practiced/interned, in a high volume practice in Spokane, Washington before returning to Nampa, Idaho in 200 to open his own practice. In 2007 he made the decision to change over to the Activator Methods® of chiropractic diagnostics and adjusting. He continues to earn his Advanced Proficiency Certification each year, growing in confidence and expertise. He is also fascinated with, and continuing his education in nutrition and knows the need to couple chiropractic care with solid, whole food nutrition.

In his own words

I just wish I had known then what I know now.

After having swam so many miles a day while in high school, I developed a slight bend in my spine that has continued to be a problem many years later. It wasn’t until I went to chiropractic school and had an examination that I realized there was a problem. Now that I understand spinal balance and symmetry, my problem could have been corrected years ago. I wish I had known how vitally important a balanced, dynamic spine is to my total health.

I was in my late 20’s when I met a man who changed my life.

He was a chiropractor and was playing national level racquetball in his mid fifties. I had always tried to do healthy things, like eat better foods, drink tons of water, get some rest, run, ride or swim as often as possible, and Dr. Nelson invited me to look at what he did for a living. I did not fancy going back to school for another 5.5 years, but the idea of working with my hands to enhance peoples health and well being was really appealing. So I quit my job, went back to school and opened our private practice in 2002. I cannot imagine doing anything else.

Having adventures of any size with my family gets me all jazzed up.

My little family is composed of my lovely wife, Linda, and my delightful daughter, Abbey. And I would be shot if I didn’t mention our dog, Annie, who you can meet in the office. We love to be together for outdoor activities in all seasons, family cooking nights and good discussions, no topics off-limits. We enjoy reading widely and watching beautiful or comic movies or episodes of old-time TV shows, such as Andy Griffith.

Enough about me! How can Swaim Chiropractic help you? We look forward to meeting you. Give our Nampa chiropractic office a call to schedule an appointment today!
