I Need to Clear the Air

I have to admit that I have been remiss. I was expecting someone in higher authority to speak truth and so I abdicated my role in leading, by not sharing this very important information.

Therefore, I just need some space to clear the air so I invite you to read on…

I am not anti-science. I am not anti-vaccine. I am not anti-mask. I am actually a fairly level headed human who is fed up with bad advice or no advice at all from public health officials. Masking and vaxxing might be a short-term strategy, but after 18 months, we need a little more from these people.

And I’m also tired of being told “you just don’t get it.”

So let me tell you what I do get.

I get that this pandemic has been bad news for many people. I also get that this pandemic has not been bad news for many other people. The gamut of experiences ranges from death to inconvenience. The same could be said for anything that may cause our mortality. Cancer is bad news. Obesity is bad news. Diabetes is bad news. Getting eaten by a shark, bad news. Look, I’m not being flippant. I’m being real. I understand this has been disorienting, confusing, and frustrating.

According to the International Statistical Classification of Disease and Related Health Problems, there are thousands of things that can kill us. Slightly more than 8000. One more virus does not change your chances. Mortality is still 100%. A virus now or a heart attack in 40 years, same result.

But what if we took better care of ourselves by doing simple, honest things? We would not reduce our chances of mortality, but our days on this planet might be filled with more life.

Let me give you seven ways to care for yourself and your immune system. Pick one or do them all and your immune system will be stronger for it.

Sorry in advance folks, these are things you know and maybe have not taken seriously enough.  But tried and true is still true.

  1. Stop eating fast food. Fast food is a big stressor to the human immune system. Because fast food is nutrient-deprived, you get calories and no nutrients. This causes all kinds of health issues, including obesity, which makes you more susceptible to viruses. I understand nobody is perfect, but do yourself a favor and don’t let fast food become a regular guest at your table. Say no to fast food.
  2. Follow this plan for whole food support: Take Cod Liver Oil daily. The vitamin A in CLO protects your mucus membranes and your mucous membranes secrete a component of antibody known as IgA. IgA stops most if not all of the invaders to your respiratory tract. The vitamin D in CLO will keep you feeling energetic in the dark months ahead. Both A and D are found naturally in Cod Liver Oil. Take Turmeric next. This is a powerful anti-inflammatory and so many of the problems people are experiencing from infection are due to an excess of inflammatory markers. Finally, take Zinc. It’s good for you. We have all of these products if you don’t have a supplier you trust. Cod Liver Oil, Turmeric, Zinc. Every day.
  3. Drink water. Cut back on coffee and alcohol and soda pop. These things can stress your system. And chronic stress suppresses your immune system.
  4. Get as much sleep as you can. Sleep is not optional. Sleep is where you heal. If you have problems in this area, talk to us, we might be able to help you with minerals and herbs.
  5. Read your scriptures. I can’t prove this one, but anything that keeps our minds and hearts clear also improves our mood and our immune system is certainly improved when our mood is improved. And there is nothing like being confronted with your mortality to clear your mind and heart.
  6. Get some sunlight and fresh air. That means get outside. Now that the smoke is gone, no excuses. Get moving.
  7. Laugh. If you are having a hard time with this one, look at yourself! Laughing at yourself is one of the healthiest things you can do. Really.

The human immune system is a marvel. And if it is cared for and exercised, like any other body system, it will work wonders for you without you having to think about it. The 7 things above will likely do the trick.

One more thing, these viruses are usually cyclical meaning we are likely, and really already are, seeing an upswing in the case load. This new variant was predictable because that is how viruses typically behave. They mutate to become more infectious. Plan on it. And implement the above steps.

So whether you are anti or pro mask, anti or pro vaccine, anti or pro science, do these things and you will be better off.

Sorry I waited so long to tell you, I thought someone in authority would eventually step up. Obviously it is not going to happen.

If you really care about your neighbor and herd immunity, take care of yourself. Being an inhospitable host to a virus is one of the kindest things you can do.

Cheers,

ks

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this Dr Swaim. 100% agree with your advice. You are my hero for stepping up and saying what we should be hearing from others, but again, it doesn't match the narrative. It's so sad all the fake news out there. Thank you Jesus for Dr Swaim!
