At Swaim Chiropractic, our services, especially those utilizing the activator technique, offer a gentle and precise approach to spinal adjustments that can effectively reduce pain, improve joint mobility, and enhance overall nervous system function. The activator device delivers a controlled, low-force impulse to targeted areas, making it ideal for patients seeking a comfortable experience without the cracking or twisting commonly associated with traditional adjustments. This technique not only promotes faster recovery from injuries and chronic conditions but also supports better posture, increased flexibility, and a balanced body alignment, ultimately contributing to improved health and well-being.

Activator Methods®

At Swaim Chiropractic, we use one of the most popular “low force” chiropractic techniques in the world.

First the Evaluation

We start with a neurological exam. While you’re lying face down, through a series of commands a bit like Simon Says, your leg lengths will be evaluated. This simple procedure can reveal significant differences in leg lengths which enlighten Dr. Swaim on what is actually disrupted in your nervous system leading him to the cause(s) of your symptoms.

This time-tested protocol tells him if vertebral subluxations exist and their location. It also helps him know when to adjust and when not to adjust.

The Adjusting Instrument

The Activator Methods® Adjusting Instrument is a handheld spring-loaded tool that delivers a consistent low-force, high-speed thrust.

Because it’s many times faster than adjustments delivered by hand, the body rarely tightens to resist, making adjustments comfortable and effective. It’s also helpful for adjusting elbows, wrists, knees and other joints of the body.

The Follow Up

After each segment is adjusted, Dr. Swaim can see through your leg lengths and other visible notations in your body if changes have been produced. This helps him deliver high-quality care and high levels of client satisfaction.
