A Movie Recommendation
This is a movie recommendation because reviews are too complicated!
I don’t watch a lot of movies, I’m not sure why. Likely because you have to sit AND stay awake. But I probably miss the point too often as well! So Mrs. Swaim, who knows my taste, occasionally says to me, “I think you would enjoy this.” When I am smart enough to listen to her, she is usually right and in this case, she was very right.
The Ballad of Wallace Island (2025) is a terrific film. Let me tell you why:
It is British.
It is quirky; which goes with being British.
It is visually stunning.
The sound track, particularly the harmonies, is great.
The actors are believable. (I got the feeling these people were not acting.)
No sex or violence.
A very touching and thought provoking story line.
I sat still for the whole thing and didn’t nod-off once. So, that’s a win!
